Hebrews 10:24-25
King James Version (KJV)
24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
I know you have seen and heard all the statistics in the news about how Americans don’t go to church anymore. This has been on my mind for a few days now. Could this be another sign that Jesus’ coming is getting closer? The last part of verse 25 says, “and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching”. I for one LOVE to go the house of God. For instance, tonight in Bible Study, my husband continued his series on “Building a Quality Walk With God”, and my heart was once again stirred and enlightened as he taught on “patience” this week. This past Sunday in our services we felt the presence of the Lord in such a powerful way. Every church service has something different for me. There is just something about going to church, gathering together with other believers and worshipping God and hearing His word that nothing else matches. Don’t forsake the house of God. That is where you gain strength for another day. The house of God is where our minds and spirits are renewed. No wonder David said, “I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord”. (Ps. 122:1)
Psalm 73
1 Truly God is good to Israel, even to such as are of a clean heart.
2 But as for me, my feet were almost gone; my steps had well nigh slipped.
3For I was envious at the foolish, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.
I don’t have enough room to put the whole chapter here, so be sure and read it later. However, what I wanted to emphasize is verses 16 and 17. David was almost backslid (my steps had well nighed slipped), until he made it to the house of God. There are some things that do not make sense and we will not understand until we get to the house of the Lord.
16 When I thought to know this, it was too painful for me;
17 Until I went into the sanctuary of God; then understood I their end.
Church is to good to not go. Even when I’m tired, I always come away from church feeling refreshed and better. This is not just spiritual either. God gives our physical bodies strength too. It’s amazing, but it works.
Just a thought.
I agree with you! Thanks for your refreshing words. Church is a place where we can relax with other believers, until we pick up the good fight and go into the world with unbelievers again.

Tracy, Thanks for stopping by. I read your post, “I Can’t Go to Church – It Might Rain”. Very interesting. Reminded me of the old song, “Excuses”. lol Keep up the great work.
Blessings!
There have been many times that I got a word from God through the preaching, or was blessed in the worship service, or was able to pray with someone at the altar, and I have thought afterward, “If I had not gone to church that service I would have really missed out on a blessing”. You just never know what a service will bring for you.
I agree with everything you have said, but what do you do when you don’t have a church to go to? When moving isn’t an option and you don’t know what else to do? I am at a total lost now Sister Hurst. Love ya.
Great post, Ronda! You hit the nail on the head, for sure! I LOVE going to church, also! So refreshing!
Cheryl, How very true. Thanks for stopping by.
Blessings!
Beth, Remember this….There is no perfect situation. Find a church that preaches truth and stick with it through thick and thin. God will bless you. I love you very much and I am still praying for you.
Blessings!
Linda, Thanks to Mother and Daddy for enjoying church as we were growing up. They made it fun to go.
Love you!
