While we were in Florida we went to a place called “Silver Springs“. This is what greeted us as we entered…… We were standing on a bridge and looking at him. Way to close for comfort.
Yes! It is real and very much alive. I thought it was just a prop but as I looked at it he moved his head and his eyes. Yikes! This alligator is a small one. Later on we saw a 12 footer on a boat ride we were on. We were moving to fast for me to get a picture, but that’s okay. I didn’t want to linger to long by that one. LOL
Love the sign.
LOL! Isn’t that sign great? As if I needed the reminder.
Ohhhh! They are so cute! I like reptiles.
I bet your hubby got the heebee jeebees in his stomach when he saw this little guy. Ha!
Yes, he definitely got the heebee jeebees. He was off that bridge in no time while I was still standing there taking pictures. LOL
Oh my word!! That would be a little scary, especially seeing a 12 footer. My sister in law went on a canoe ride in Florida and saw about 20 big ol gators during the trip. She was crying and never thought she’d live to see another day. LOL
Thank goodness, I didn’t get that frightened, but it is a little un-nerving seeing those big creatures. Their mouth is just so big and full of huge teeth.
Wild or Tame…I’m standing clear!
Is there such a thing as a tame alligator. I really don’t want to find out. lol
Wow. I’ve never seen an alligator in the wild. How cool is that!
Felipe
Felipe, Thanks for stopping by. It is awesome seeing these alligators, plus a lot of other wildlife. Come by often!
Blessings to you!
I’ve seen a fair number of alligators in Florida, but following the advice on that sign keeps one out of trouble.
Yes! Obeying that sign is a very smart thing to do. LOL
Blessings to you in Australia! Thanks for stopping by.
I love the picuture. I bet this cute, little alligator is thinking I may look adorable now, but just let me get a little bigger and you will become my dinner! LOL
Deb, That is pretty much what I thought when I was standing there looking at him. That grin on his face has to mean something. lol
The sign – DUH!!! That sign is for the people who need the instructions that come with an iron stating, “Do not iron clothes while on body.” Or the one with the hair dryer that says, “Do not use in shower.”
This pic reminded me of a time we visited the president’s palace in Senegal, West Africa and his compound was surrounded by a crocodile filled moat. If you gave one of the guards a few bucks, they would feed the crocs. We were standing on a concrete ledge only 3-4 feet above the crocs and when the guard started hitting his knife on the concrete, crocs came from everywhere! They moved so fast and there were hundreds of them. Sized from 2 ft. babies to 22 ft. adults. The 22 ft. croc never came out of the water, but there were plenty of 10 – 15 ft. crocs that were in touching distance from us. I do think alligators are prettier than crocs. Great picture. Mine are packed away in a box somewhere.
Jana, ….Or those little packages they put in stuff like shoes and purses to keep the moisture out and a note printed on it, “do not eat”. LOL Gotta love those people. hee hee
I think I would have been freaked out at the President’s house in West Africa. It would have been cool to see though. Glad you have the memory. You will need to find those pictures someday.
For real? I thought it was fake too! It even looks like it has a smile?! lol
Diana, I know. I stood there and looked at it awhile and said, “oh, that isn’t real” then it began to move. YIKES! It is for sure real. Cute little smile though, huh? lol
I know what you mean about being way too close..Recently I did a trip to North Queensland, Australia, one of the highlights was to travel down the crocodile infested river. It wasn’t until we sat in a flat bottom boat and the guide announced we were not to move an inch whilst travelling , because the boat could quite easily tip over…I immediately froze knowing there were more than 300 of them just waiting for fresh meat… I managed to get a couple of close ups too…I was ever so pleased when we pulled into shore and could get back onto the coach…. I am not a crocodile hunter like our late Steve Irwin..
Carol, OH MY WORD!!! 300??? I would have been very happy to get back to shore and out of that boat. LOL I’m no crocodile hunter either.
Thanks for stopping by again.
Blessings to you!
